I am a simple plant. I am illegal for some reason. You may have smoked, boiled, or cooked me into food and ate me. I free your mind and body. I also may make you a little hungry. The most damage I can do is when you smoke me; I'll put a little tar onto your lungs. If you vaporize me though I am very healthy. I have never killed anyone in my life. you "high."

Cannabis users in Jamaica praise ganja's benefits for meditation, concentration, consciousness-raising and promoting a state of well being and self assertiveness. This kind of attitude adjustment, along with a healthier appetite and better rest, often represents the difference between feeling like you are "dying of" AIDS or cancer and feeling like you are "living with" AIDS or cancer. Cannabis also eases small pains and some big ones and helps senior citizens live with aches and pains like arthritis, insomnia and debilitating infirmities, and enjoy life in greater dignity and comfort. Legend has it, and medical evidence indicates, that cannabis is the best overall treatment for dementia, senility, and maybe Alzheimer's disease, for long-term memory "gain" and hundreds of other benefits. U.S. statistics of the 1970s indicated that you will live eight to 24 years longer if you substitute daily cannabis use for daily tobacco and alcohol use. New research is outlawed, of course.

As man is it against the laws of Nature, to make a plant and an amazing flower illegal? The United States is fighting a massive Drug War that many have forgotten about. They want to wipe out what they call the "scruge." Cannabis is not a scurge. As a matter of fact it's better than cotton. When you grow fields of cotton the roots make the soil very dry and not so healthy. (They used peanuts and soy bean plants to refertile the soil for the next harvest of cotton.) But whereas the roots from a Marijuana plant grow into the ground it breaks up the soil and brings back life to the soil. With cotton you can only use the cotton you picked, but with the Marijuana plant we can use the entire crop for over 15,000 thousand products that are made today and cost less to make. The Marijuana plant could make all that cheaper. The fibers in the plant are so strong and versatile you can do anything with Marijuana.

"If all fossil fuels and their derivatives, as well as trees for paper and construction, were banned in order to save the planet, reverse the greenhouse effect and stop deforestation; then there is only one known annually renewable natural resource that is capable of providing the overall majority of the world's paper and textiles; meet all of the world's transportation, industrial and home energy needs, while simultaneously reducing pollution, rebuilding the soil and cleaning the atmosphere all at the same time... and that substance is the same one that has done it before . . . CANNABIS/HEMP/MARIJUANA!

NEWS:

Michigan became the thirteenth state to legalize the physician supervised possession and use of cannabis. According to early returns, more than 60 percent of Michigan voters decided in favor of Proposal 1, which establishes a state-regulated system regarding the use and cultivation of medical marijuana by qualified patients. Voters endorsed the measure despite a high profile, deceptive, and despicable ad campaign by Prop. 1 opponents — who falsely claimed that the initiative would allow for the open sale of marijuana “in every neighborhood, just blocks from schools.” (In fact, Proposal 1 does not even allow for the creation of licensed cannabis dispensaries.) Michigan’s new law goes into effect on December 4th, at which time nearly one-quarter of the US population will live in a state that authorizes the legal use of medical cannabis. ----------- MORE:
A Government Agency Tells the Truth About Marijuana

The government is extremely multifaceted, so which agency am I referring to? The University of Texas at Austin’s University Health Services.

Instead of promoting fear and paranoia, or subsidizing the private prison industry lobby, their mission is to “support academic pursuits by fostering physical and psychological wellness and by promoting healthy lifestyles among UT students”. Perhaps this frees them up from the usual propaganda requirements.

At any rate, check out the UHS page on Marijuana. Some selected portions:

Q: Smoking marijuana causes laziness and saps motivation.

A: Undetermined, but it appears to be more false than true. The lack of motivation that some heavy users experience often can be attributed to other factors such as the use of alcohol or other drugs, depression, or other underlying personality characteristics.

Q: Marijuana is a "gateway drug." (That is, smoking pot leads to using harder drugs.)

A: This is most likely false. Most drug users don't begin with marijuana, but start with tobacco and alcohol at a fairly young age. People who go on to use harder drugs tend to be experimenters. Pot is just one of several or many drugs that experimenters may try.

Q: Use of marijuana promotes aggression and crime.

A: This is generally false. Marijuana usually has a calming effect. Most criminals who use marijuana began committing crimes before they started smoking pot. On the other hand, a couple of studies have shown a correlation between heavy marijuana use in teenagers and aggressive behavior, disruptive behavior, and crime. It's important to note that correlations do not necessarily show cause and effect.
